Well shiver me timbers, it’s finally here; you are finally here!
This is a final reminder to both be safe and have fun. Let your curiosity guide you, allow you to meet old friends and make new ones.

SAFETY

  • Trainers are available about 60-90 minutes before the first round each day. Trainers shouldn’t be requested unless there’s a serious injury. If there’s a twisted ankle or a small cut, etc, please make your way (with a friend) over to the Medical Tent.  If an injury is indeed serious, please find a staff member on a cart (and/or in camo) or a lifeguard and alert them, you can also post it in the captains channel on WhatsApp. We have radios and can get a trainer to you quickly via UTV.
  • If an injury is extremely serious, please call 9-1-1 as you proceed to find a staff member or lifeguard.
  • Should you need to visit an urgent care facility or hospital, the closest is: Hoag Hospital – Newport Beach, 1 Hoag Dr 1st floor, Newport Beach, CA 92658
  • Finally, watch out for one another. We’re all here to have fun, but if somebody isn’t doing well please help them out with water, shade, a break, sunscreen, or whatever else they need.

GENERAL REMINDERS

  • Report SOTG and game scores ASAP after every round.
  • Make sure to select individual SOTG winners as we have some fun prizes lined up.
  • Players must have their cloth pink wristband on in order to play; spectators & players must have their wristbands on (blue & pick respectively) in order to enter The Saturday Night Party which has no in/out privileges (food will be available for purchase at the venue once inside).
  • Drink tickets will be handed out at the entrance to Yost Theater on Saturday night and are only valid from 9:00 -11:00 PM at the Yost; they’re good for a beer, hard seltzer, or soda, OR $5 off a cocktail.
  • ONLY cars with pre-paid parking passes are allowed through the Magnolia St entrance.
  • We have great deals on beer, hard seltzer, and cold brew at HQ; and Spin has really fun merch.
  • There’s NO PARKING OVERNIGHT; and please abide by all parking signs at the Beach and at the Saturday night shuttle stops.
  • Ride share to the party if you can; it’s going to be epic.

NOTABLE RULES:

  • All games are to 13 using a 2:2 gender-match ratio; halftime cap at 25 minutes or one team reaches 7 (or 8 via 2-pointer); 3-minute halftime; one 45-second timeout per half.

  • Hard cap at 50 minutes; finish current point (including if “between points”): if one team is ahead, they win; if tied, play one last point.

  • Pulls do not need to be inverted; pulls that roll out of bounds are the same as landing out. Puller should be of alternate gender-match every other pull (per team).
  • There is no traditional brick mark; instead all out of bounds pulls (in-air and roll-outs) are either put in play with a thrower’s ground-check centered at mid-field or centered on their own endzone line (2-pointer is in play).

  • Stall count is to 8.

  • Endzone to opposite endzone cross-gender completions are worth two (2) points. The thrower’s pivot foot must be on or behind the endzone line for it to count; receiver must be fully in the other endzone.

  • Callahan goals (the defense catching the disc in their attacking endzone) are also worth two (2) points.

  • Foot blocks are legal but any kicking of sand into the face is an automatic uncontested foul.
