Like manyothers, i’ve been looking forward to a truly great Harry Potter game since I was in the third grade. Over the years we’ve seen some decent LEGO Potter games, an somewhat disappointing EA Sports Quidditch game for some reason, and went through the intense nightmare which is Harry Potter Kinect. None of these have come close to fulfilling that fantasy of receiving a Hogwarts admissions card that opens the way to a completely different world. The game Hogwarts Legacy I’m delighted to report that we’ve finally found an Harry Potter game that captures the essence of this magic. Its open world map absolutely conveys the atmosphere of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it has an amazing combat system that can be described as spell casting and the characters in the world are adorable and memorable and the game is packed with numerous ways to fill several times of. This may not be an impressive technological achievement but it’s definitely cursed by a lack of enemy diversity, but none of Hogwarts Legacy’s shortcomings can cast its Descendo magic on this thrilling trip to the Wizarding World.

Similar to the majority of Harry Potter tales before it Legacy’s plot contains more holes than the stockings of a fishnet and sorta just expects readers to understand that the magic world isn’t quite clear. This intriguing third-person action-adventure role-playing game begins with the transfer of you to Hogwarts as an eighth-year wizard or witch (for mysterious reasons) to do everything from studying classes, fighting gigantic spiders using a magic stick and flying around like the back of a hippos. The amazing character creator gives you lots of choices in creating your ideal character or wizard (apart of a somewhat limited selection of voices) Then as soon after you’ve created them, they’ll become involved in a conflict that involves The Wizarding World and a wicked goblin. Plus as being part of an underground wizard’s society is apparently not exciting enough and you’ll soon realize that there are some awesome super-charged magical abilities that allow the player to do amazing stuff that’s not really explained.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll squirm at times when you’re exposed to 100 years of dead characters lecturing from paintings about the significance of something that took place a long time ago and how you have to save the world or any other topic. But once that’s over with Legacy mostly redeems itself with a fantastic cast of non-painting characters that help boil things down into a not-too-convoluted good-guys-versus-bad-guys conflict that ends up being an enjoyable tale, even if it’s not particularly profound or original.

The characters you’ll most likely spend the majority in your octordle daily life with include fellow students who will welcome your fellow students, accompany you on your quests and help you develop your skills as a user. They’re all memorable and amusing, such Sebastian the charismatic and morally reliable Slytherin or Natsai the clever and unflappable Gryffindor, and spending time with them and strengthening your social links through their relationship quests helped make my stay at Hogwarts each and every day more enjoyable.
In every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG I’ve always been wanting to play. Its open-world adventure brings to life the excitement and wonder that is The Wizarding World with its memorable new characters that are challenging and nuanced in their combat and a well-crafted Hogwarts student fantasy that kept me glued to my computer for a number of hours. The game is certainly burdened by technical issues, a dull main storyline, and bad enemy choices, but even those weren’t close of breaking its spell over me.
